Christmas in Streatham

During the festive period, Instreatham delivers a comprehensive marketing campaign to encourage visitors and shoppers to experience Christmas in Streatham. This year, we’ve designed a festive trail for youngsters to explore their town, our annual Christmas magazine and Lights Switch-on event for all the family!

Christmas lights switch on

Instreatham organises the annual Christmas lights switch on at Babington Plaza. We’ll have a festive market alongside live entertainment and Santa’s Grotto! As always, we’ve got a celebrity switching on the Christmas lights, the celebrity is always a Streatham local and we’ve had many famous faces in the past including David Harewood, Sandy & Sandra from Gogglebox and Catherine Russell. We’re excited to announce that this year, Lianne La Havas will be counting down on stage with us!

The festive market will run from 11am – 6pm, with lovely stalls lined up from gifts to vintage items, jewellery, clothing, food and more!

We also produce the marketing materials for the Christmas lights switch on, which includes the stage banners, posters and advertising leading up to the event.

Christmas lights in numbers:

2 miles of lights put up each year

250+ people gathered on Babington Plaza to watch the switch-on

Streatham Book of Christmas

Instreatham produces the Christmas magazine to showcase the best places to go and things to see during the festive period. In 2018, we created the Streatham book of Christmas, 20,000 copies were printed and distributed within Streatham.

Christmas trail

Keep the kids entertained over the holidays with our Christmas trail. Similar to our previous trails, families walk all along the high road from Telford Avenue all the way through to the Common.

The purpose of the trail is to encourage families to visit their high street shops and explore the fabulous independents in their area. Previous trails have increased footfall and sales with an estimated 150 families discovering shops and cafes they wouldn’t usually visit.

Commencing on December 1st, the fun festive trail invites visitors to locate 15 hidden elves around Streatham shop windows, in order to win a fantastic prize. Visitors simply need to follow the trail and locate all of the elves and their names.
